Refund Policy and Right of Withdrawal
The German version of this refund policy is the legally binding one. Translations into other languages are provided solely for readability.
1. Statutory right of withdrawal (§11 FAGG)
As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the Pro subscription within 14 days without giving reasons. The period starts at contract conclusion in the Paddle checkout.
The yearly plan begins with a free 14-day trial; the 14-day withdrawal period starts at checkout completion and coincides with the trial. The monthly plan has no trial: the first monthly fee is charged at checkout completion; the 14-day withdrawal period likewise starts at checkout completion.
- For the yearly plan, the 14-day trial covers the withdrawal period exactly; no payment is taken during this time, so a withdrawal does not trigger a refund.
- For the monthly plan, the first monthly fee is charged at checkout completion. If you declare withdrawal within the 14-day withdrawal period, we refund the full amount paid without deduction.
2. No waiver of the right of withdrawal in checkout
We do not collect an express waiver under §18(1)(11) FAGG during checkout. The right of withdrawal under section 1 therefore remains available for the full 14-day period, even if the Pro service has been actively used in the meantime.
3. How to withdraw
You can declare withdrawal via any of the following channels:
- By email to support@getalias.email, stating your account email and the subscription ID (visible in the dashboard under "Pro").
- Through the Paddle customer portal (link also in the Paddle order confirmation email).
- By informal letter to the postal address listed in the Imprint.
A reason is not required. Sending the declaration in good time suffices to meet the deadline.
4. Consequences of withdrawal
- On withdrawal, the Pro status is immediately downgraded to Free. Your account remains; all aliases, reply tokens, and other account data remain unchanged to the extent they fit within Free quotas.
- During the yearly plan's 14-day trial no payment has been taken; no refund applies.
- Where payment has already been taken — at checkout completion for the monthly plan, after the 14-day trial for the yearly plan — we arrange the refund of the amount already paid via Paddle.com Market Limited (Merchant of Record); Paddle issues the repayment using the original payment method, without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days of receipt of the withdrawal declaration.
5. Cancellation outside the right of withdrawal
You may cancel the Pro subscription at any time via Settings → Manage subscription (opens the Paddle customer portal).
- During the yearly plan's 14-day trial: cancellation ends the subscription at the end of the trial; no first charge is taken and the account drops back to Free automatically once the trial ends.
- For the monthly plan, and for the yearly plan after the trial: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Pro status remains active until the end of the paid period; no pro-rata refund is granted for the unused remainder — you keep full Pro functionality until period end. The account then drops back to Free automatically and the next billing interval is not triggered.
6. Goodwill refunds
Outside the statutory right of withdrawal, refunds are granted at our discretion, for example when a technical issue on our side has rendered the service unusable for an extended period. Please direct such cases with a description of the issue to support@getalias.email.
7. Refund on operator-initiated suspension
If the operator suspends your account on substantiated grounds under section 5 of the Terms of Service, no refund claim arises for the current billing period. For suspensions caused by reasons within the operator's sphere (e.g. shutdown, technical failure), we refund the pro-rata amount for the unused remaining term.
8. Chargebacks and disputes
If you charge back a Pro transaction through your card or bank issuer, we receive an adjustment.created notification from Paddle. The Pro status drops to Free as of the effective time of that notification, and the account is temporarily blocked from new Pro purchases until the matter is resolved. We recommend using the withdrawal or refund path in section 3 first — chargebacks create significant administrative overhead on both sides.
